Our Story

PaPaws Organic Farm is a family-owned and operated farm nestled in the sunny hills of Valley Center, California, where fertile soil and a long growing season allow us to grow exceptional fruit year after year. As a family, we've poured our time, energy, and hearts into bringing this land back to life. What was once a neglected avocado grove has become a thriving organic farm, built through patience, hard work, and a deep respect for the land. Farming teaches you that good things take time. You plant, you care for what you've planted, and eventually the land rewards your efforts.

Our farm is named in honor of our grandfather, Papaw, whose work ethic and love for the land continue to inspire everything we do. Carrying his name forward is a responsibility we cherish. PaPaws is more than a farm to us. It's a reflection of our values, our commitment to stewardship, and our belief that land can create opportunity and security for future generations. Everything we're building today is with our children and grandchildren in mind, creating something lasting that they can inherit, care for, and continue to grow.

Choosing organic farming was a natural decision because it aligns with the way we believe food should be grown. We never use synthetic pesticides, harmful nitrates, or shortcuts that compromise the health of our customers or our soil. Organic farming requires more attention, more labor, and more patience, but we believe the results are worth it. Earning USDA Certified Organic status was an important milestone for our family, and maintaining that certification remains a commitment we make with every harvest.

The crops we grow are perfectly suited to Valley Center's unique climate. Our orchards produce Hass and Zutano avocados known for their rich flavor and nutritional benefits. We also grow Meyer lemons, prized for their bright, sweet-tart flavor, along with vibrant dragon fruit and aromatic passion fruit. Each crop reflects the quality of the soil it comes from and is naturally rich in nutrients like potassium, magnesium, vitamin C, iron, and phosphorus.

When you order from PaPaws, your fruit is picked fresh from our farm and shipped directly to your door. There are no middlemen, warehouses, or long periods sitting on store shelves. Just fresh, organically grown fruit harvested by our family and delivered to yours.
