Our Organics

The advantages of organic foods are both obvious and not-to-so-obvious. Organic food benefits are about you, some about others, and some about the environment. Organic food production helps reduce public health risks with less exposure to nitrates and pesticide residues in organically grown fruits, vegetables, and grains when compared to conventionally grown produce. Organic produce is rich in nutrients, such as Vitamin C, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus. PaPaws Farm is dedicated to providing beyond organically grown produce to you. We are a family-owned business and consider you part of our family. Try some of our clean grown produce today and reap the benefits for you and your family. NOTE: We are at the administration stage of Organic certification. All of our fruit is planted, grown and picked by our extended family. It is only a matter of time before the official certification matches our efforts.

Dragon Fruit

Dragon fruit may look exotic, but its flavors are similar to other fruits. When ripe, dragon fruit has a mildly sweet flavor often described as a blend of pear and kiwi, and a soft texture similar to a ripe kiwi. The most widely available variety has white pulp with black seeds, though a less common type with red pulp and black seeds exists as well.

Dragon fruit is high in vitamin C and other antioxidants, which are good for your immune system. It can also boost your iron levels. Iron is important for moving oxygen through your body and giving you energy. Dragon fruit can help your body take in and utilize the iron

Haas Avocado

Hass avocado is perhaps one of the most famous avocado types and considered by many to be the best. The Hass avocado is a variety of avocado with dark green, bumpy skin. When ripe, the skin becomes a dark purplish-black and yields to gentle pressure. The flavor is quite intense, and the flesh is very creamy, perfect for guacamole.

When it comes to nutritional content, Hass avocados are higher in fat than other varieties, which gives them a richer taste and smoother, creamier texture. 80% of avocados consumed in the world are Hass avocados, meaning all other varieties make up only a small proportion of the remaining 20%.

Meyers Lemons

Meyer lemons are a small, sweet hybrid lemon. They’re thought to be a cross between a regular lemon and a mandarin orange.. They have a smooth, thin rind with a deep yellow hue. Their pulp is yellow, with a sweet, floral taste. They are rounder, darker in color and much sweeter than regular lemons.

Meyer lemons are very popular in gourmet cooking recipes and  known to reduce stress and inflammation while boosting energy, mood, and immunity.

Passion Fruit

Passion fruit sounds exotic, but it doesn’t necessarily look that way. From the outside, it looks small and egg-shaped, with yellow or purple skin. You might confuse it for a small lemon or plum until you slice it in half. Inside, it’s filled with crunchy seeds in juicy yellow pulp.

Passion fruit tastes sweet and tart. Only the pulp and seeds are okay to eat, and there are a lot of health benefits. This delicious and healthy snack is full of iron, which assists your body to absorb its plentiful vitamin C.

Zulano Avocado

Zutano avocados are pear-shaped with shiny, thin yellow-green skins that don’t change color when fully ripe and are somewhat more difficult to peel than other varieties. They have light-textured, pale green flesh around a pear-shaped seed. Their higher water content and lower oil content gives them a mild  taste.

Zutano Avocados are not an avocado you would find in the grocery store. Unlike Hass, green avocados stay green when ripe, and consumers prefer the color change, as with the Hass, to know when the avocado is ripe. Hass type avocados are easier to market than green types, regardless of flavor or quality.
